The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) invites applications from news media organisations to participate in its House-to-House on investigative journalism desk under the Collaborative Media Engagement for Development, Inclusivity, and Accountability (CMEDIA) project. The initiative seeks to create investigative reporting desks where they do not exist and strengthen existing ones.

The house-to-house engagement will entail a visit to successful media houses to conduct a one-day orientation/conversation for their members of staff and management of investigative journalism desk, and the possibility of a two-year partnership to strengthen their investigative reporting desk to publish investigative stories on state and local government with technical and financial support.

The collaborative media project is designed as a multi-level intervention for media independence and government accountability. It seeks to strengthen the media’s independence and presence, especially at state and local government levels in a bid to improve public awareness and the ecosystem for accountability there. It was initiated by WSCIJ and funded by the MacArthur Foundation.

Application deadline: Friday 10 February 2023
