Journalists in Uganda interested in covering road safety issues can participate in an in-person training program.

The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), with assistance from Global Road Safety Partnership, is offering a training program to examine the issues challenging road safety Uganda. The training focuses on the key behavioral risk factors of speeding, drunk-driving and the use of seatbelts and helmets.

The program consists of two five-day courses.  The first course will be held in Kampala, Uganda from Feb. 21 to 25.  The second course will be held in May.

To apply, journalists must submit three story samples on transport related issues.

The application deadline is Feb. 3
