Journalists interested in the current state of journalism in Africa can join a discussion on Friday, Sept. 24, at 11 am EST, organized by ICFJ and ONE.

Webinar participants will hear from the 2020-21 winners of the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling. ICFJ Knight Fellow Catherine Gicheru, one of Africa’s foremost editors, will lead a discussion on the continent’s growing network of women journalists, highlighting progress and the daunting challenges that remain for them.

Other panelists include Elliott honorees who have tackled everything from child exploitation in Nigeria and the DRC, to sexual harassment at Ghanaian universities.

The event is free and open to journalists worldwide.
